SCHEDULE APPOINTMENT

Michael Racenstein, M.D.

Michael Racenstein received his undergraduate and medical degrees from Northwestern University. He completed a general surgery internship, radiology residency and mammography fellowship at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, California before returning to the Chicago area to become the section chief of Women’s Imaging at Rush North Shore Medical Center in Skokie, Illinois. He also joined the faculty of Rush University Medical Center, where he still maintains an appointment of Clinical Instructor.

Dr. Racenstein worked as section chief of Women’s Imaging from 1994 through 2008, until he became the head of Women’s Imaging at Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. He subsequently became Chairman of the Alexian Brothers Radiology Department in January 2011 and has worked in this capacity ever since. Dr. Racenstein serves as the Supervising Radiologist for Advanced Breast Imaging, a PET mammography center in Arlington Heights, Illinois and also oversees Breast Imaging services at a busy outpatient imaging center in the western suburbs. Dr. Racenstein began his association with Dr. Werber in 2003 and has continued to work with Dr. Farag since that time. He is a past president of the Chicago Radiological Society, President Elect of the Illinois Radiological Society, and a Fellow of the American College of Radiology.
